ISIS executes 10 for being gay in Syria
Islamic State militants executed nine men and a boy accused of being gay in Syria on Monday (21 September), a monitoring group has said.
The UK-based Syrian Observatory for Human Rights said the jihadists shot dead seven men in Rastan, a town in central Syria, ‘after accusing them of being homosexual.’
Two men and a boy – his age is not known – were also executed in the northern town of Hreitan for the same reason, Observatory head Rami Abdel Rahman told AFP.
He said the executions were carried out in public but IS fighters destroyed any cameras that had been used to film the killings.
ISIS has branded LGBTI people ‘the worst of all creatures’ and claimed responsibility for the executions at least 30 gay men.
Last month, the United Nations Security Council heard from two gay men who had fled the terror group.
‘ISIS are also professional when it comes to tracking gay people,’ said one of the survivors.
‘They hunt them down one by one. When they capture people, they go through his phone and his contacts and Facebook friends. They are trying to track down every gay man. And it’s like dominoes. If one goes, the others will be taken down too.’

High school suspended gay student for wearing ‘provocative’ T-shirt
A gay student was suspended from high school after refusing to take off her “Nobody Knows I’m a Lesbian” T-shirt.
Brianna Popour said that she wore it to reach out to others who may be struggling to come out. But when she came to Chesnee High School, in South Carolina, she claims she was told to take off the shirt or to go home.
She refused to take off the shirt, and argued that there was nothing in the school’s dress code that she violated wearing it. But anyway, she was suspended.
Brianna stated to WSPA: “I’ve worn this shirt before and nobody’s ever said anything.”
According to WCBD 2 News: “[dress code states] clothing deemed distracting, revealing, overly suggestive or otherwise disruptive will not be permitted.”
Brianna’s mother, Barbara Popour, told WSPA: “[the school administrator] does not like people in his school wearing anything that says anything about lesbians, gays, or bisexuals.”
Director of the Children, Youth and Family Program, Ellen Kahn, at Human Rights Campaign Foundation, condemned the school’s act saying “it’s quite an extreme measure”.
She told Dailymail.com: “It’s not only hurtful to Brianna who was simply expressing who she is. But it creates a much more hostile and tense environment for other LGBT students, and other students who want to be more supportive.”

I choose you! This gay Pokémon proposal is too cute for words
One loved-up guy was planning to pop the question to his Pokémon-loving boyfriend.
Tumblr user Brett Graham became a true Pokemon Master when popping the question to his partner Max in a truly epic style.
Pokemon adventures begin with a single choice – usually between a a water type, fire type, and a grass type.
When Brett decided to propose to Max, he decided their life adventure should begin in the same way- custom-designing three ‘starter’ rings and Pokéballs to hold them.
He explained: “It took me a while to figure out the right way to propose to Max, but I’m pretty damned proud of what I came up with.
A ‘fire type’ starter which is black with a red gem, and a ‘water type’ starter with a mother of pearl inlay. “A ‘grass type’ starter with a wooden inlay.
“I’ve been scheming like a madman for months.
Brett added: “Max, for his part, has been telling me pretty much every day since we’ve started that he’s going to marry me. Somehow, I was still nervous when it came time to ask about making that official.
“At the beginning of every adventure, you need to pick a partner. I chose him. So, I figured if he said yes, he could decide what to wear on his finger.
Max picked a Fire type and of course said yes.
Next big surprise is already being planned by Brett.
He said of the other two rings: “He gets those, too. The significance of the choice is that whatever he picked as his official starter will ‘evolve’ at milestone anniversaries. I got plans.”
We’re just glad a rival didn’t come along and take the one of the other rings.

Boxer Yusaf Mack says he’s bisexual and wasn’t drugged and tricked into doing gay porn
Boxer Yusaf Mack, a 35-year-old, had insisted that the only time he’s touched a man was when he was in the ring fighting.
Now Mack has come out with a story as bisexual and he is admitting his earlier claim of being drugged and tricked into making a gay porn film was a lie.
‘My life was completely destroyed once it had been outed that I participated in a gay film,’ he wrote in a lengthy post Monday (2 November) I selfishly tried to cover the truth and remain in denial, rather than accept the fact that I was leading a double life secretly.’
‘I did participate in the adult film because at the time I needed money but also because I am a bisexual man. Meaning I enjoy safely being intimate with whomever I choose.
‘I want to say sorry to my children and my ex fiancé, I am so sorry that I was a coward and hid a huge part of my life from you all. To the ones that were once my friends and now feel disgust, I’m sorry, but this is my life. I’m not looking for sympathy or even understanding, I’ve kept this secret for a long time. It is time to move forward and this is me walking in my truth.
‘The extreme taboo and harsh criticism of living a same sex lifestyle, especially as an African American male, makes it hard to be completely honest and comfortable within yourself. But I had to remember that I am a champ & I can fight and will fight through this.’
Mack said that he was drugged when he turned up at the set in the Bronx, New York City in June and he hadn’t remember anything whatsoever until he got back on the train in Philadelphia.
He said:‘My whole life, I’ve been what they call a whoremonger. I love females. The only time I touch a man is when I’m in the ring fighting.’

Conservatives Bashing Chick-fil-A for “Going Gay”
Chick-fil-A, the Atlanta-based company gets hated on when its CEO hates on gays. Yet when it tries to support a dialogue about faith and sexuality, it gets hated on by the conservatives who used to love them.
Conservative supporters are calling on Chick-fil-A to explain itself after they discovered that the company is a sponsor of Level Ground, a Los-Angeles based organization that seeks to “create a safe space for dialogue about faith, gender, and sexuality through the arts.”
So they launched an online petition, “CFA Goes Gay, Corporate Needs to Know,” to publicly shame the company for not continuing to hate the gays.
The conservatives, led by Steven Policastro, launched the petition after Level Ground hosted a Film & Art Festival in Nashville on Oct. 8-10. Level Ground includes Chick-fil-A among 15 sponsors of the overall organization – not necessarily the Nashville event – on its website. Others include Hilton Pasadena, Fox Audience Strategy, Stone Brewing, Whole Foods and First United Methodist Church Pasadena.
It’s not the first time that conservatives have aired their grievances with Chick-fil-A, whose CEO erupted a controversy when he proudly embraced the company’s anti-gay antics in 2012 and shamed the U.S. Supreme Court in 2013 when it dumped DOMA.

A Restaurant Allegedly Kicked Out Gay Couple on Their Anniversary
A gay couple in Ireland is saying that a Dublin restaurant kicked them out midway through their anniversary dinner because nearby customers couldn’t stomach same-sex hand-holding. One of them wrote an angry, anonymous letter, which was published in the Irish magazine GCN:
“My partner and I were in a Dublin city centre restaurant celebrating our second anniversary and we were being physically tactile with each other. Not kissing the faces of each other or anything, but holding hands and looking into each other’s eyes. A waiter came to our table and told us that customers at another table were complaining about us. He suggested that we stop showing each other physical affection.
We asked to see a manager, who said something similar, adding that he had no problem with gay people. When we said we had every right to show each other affection, the manager said that it was unfortunate that other customers were uncomfortable, and suggested that we leave. He told us we wouldn’t be charged for our meal.”
The writer says that they both felt humiliated by the whole thing, and pretty disappointed in Ireland, too: “We like to think of Ireland as a place where gay people are fully accepted and respected, especially since the landslide passing of the same-sex marriage referendum, but if my experience last week is anything to go by, this is still a surface image.”

Boy George Admits Gay Sex With Prince
An unnamed source in the crowd at the at the Voice UK, live auditions recently spoke to The Sun about an exchange between Boy George and Paloma Faith that stalled production on the show.
While courting a contestant, George reportedly touted some of his great partnerships over the years, allegedly saying:
“I have duetted with some of the greatest soul singers in history including Luther Vandross and Smokey Robinson.”
This prompted Paloma to brag back:
“Well OK, if we’re throwing big soul names out there I’ve performed with Prince.”
Boy George then allegedly fired back at Faith, shocking fans by saying:
“Forget that, darling, I’ve slept with Prince.”
This revelation reportedly shut down production of the show, as producers reportedly stop filming for a brief time to address the comment.
As the source told the Sun:
“Production staff had to come up on stage and speak to them. After that Boy George started backtracking saying he hadn’t really slept with Prince and that in reality, he just had his poster on his wall. But as far as the crowd were concerned the cat was already out of the bag.”

Bloody Sculpture Draws Attention to FDA’s Ban on Gay Donors
The display known as ‘Jordan Eagles: Blood Mirror’ is being exhibited as a protest to the federal ban preventing most LGBT men from donating blood.
It has been referred to as seeking “to create an open dialogue and effect change around the US Food & Drug Administration’s current discriminatory policy on blood donations from gay and bisexual men.”
“Blood Mirror” by Jordan Eagles uses blood donated by nine gay and bisexual men. It’s encased in resin.
The blood mirror is designed as a three-sided rectangle – allowing visitors to step inside the piece. The aim of it is to see themselves reflected through the blood.
It’ll be shown at Trinity Church on Wall Street from Monday through Dec. 1, World AIDS Day.
Eagles says he wanted to create the 7-foot-tall interactive sculpture to show the blood could have been used to save lives.
The Food and Drug Administration instituted a lifetime ban on blood donations from gay men in 1983 in response to the AIDS crisis. This year, it proposed an updated policy allowing donations from gay men if they remained celibate for a year.
“Blood Mirror” was previously on view at the American University Museum in Washington, D.C.

Seven-Year-Old Student Forced To Leave School Over Gay Dad
An Australian private school has told the father of a seven-year-old girl she would not have been welcome had it known her parents were gay.
Brendan, who asked for his last name to be withheld to protect the identity of his daughter, raised allegations of discrimination on the basis of his sexuality against Foundation Christian College
The school is located in Mandurah, the second-largest city in Western Australia.
According to the Mandurah Mail, after Brendan’s daughter told school friends he was gay, principal Andrew Newhouse told Brendan that his daughter could only stay at the school if she did not speak of her father’s sexuality or his relationship with his partner.
Brendan said: “(My daughter) got talking about Tony Abbott and gay marriage and mentioned that her dad is with (my partner) and she was shut down by her teacher and then the teacher had to explain to the class what ‘gay’ is.”
He was later called to go into a meeting, but he thought that it would be about her education and how she was going in class.
Brendan continues: “I was told that they don’t promote ‘gay’ at the school and (my daughter) was unable to talk about my life between (my partner) and me and general stuff about what a kid talks about with her parents.”
“The (school) board are firm in their view that families have a mother and father who raise children jointly.”
“She could mention my name, but she couldn’t talk about us being gay or relating to us as a couple, so pretty much to a seven-year-old, we were forced to say to (my daughter) that she wasn’t allowed to talk about Daddy or (my partner) at all.”
