ISIS executes 10 for being gay in Syria
Islamic State militants executed nine men and a boy accused of being gay in Syria on Monday (21 September), a monitoring group has said.
The UK-based Syrian Observatory for Human Rights said the jihadists shot dead seven men in Rastan, a town in central Syria, ‘after accusing them of being homosexual.’
Two men and a boy – his age is not known – were also executed in the northern town of Hreitan for the same reason, Observatory head Rami Abdel Rahman told AFP.
He said the executions were carried out in public but IS fighters destroyed any cameras that had been used to film the killings.
ISIS has branded LGBTI people ‘the worst of all creatures’ and claimed responsibility for the executions at least 30 gay men.
Last month, the United Nations Security Council heard from two gay men who had fled the terror group.
‘ISIS are also professional when it comes to tracking gay people,’ said one of the survivors.
‘They hunt them down one by one. When they capture people, they go through his phone and his contacts and Facebook friends. They are trying to track down every gay man. And it’s like dominoes. If one goes, the others will be taken down too.’

Linda Harvey: Fight for gay rights, not climate change
Linda Harvey, Mission: America, is incandescent that President Obama “continues to exalt the climate-change agenda above actual global crises,” meaning the “crises” of gay rights and reproductive freedom.
“Disease, emotional trauma, mutilation, family division, domestic violence and self-harm follow in the wake of LGBTQ identities and reproductive rights”. Harvey published her column in WorldNetDaily. She said: “There’s no way to disguise or adequately manage the wreckage left in the wake of these unnatural, life-rejecting behaviors.”
She is warning that “our culture’s current embrace of sexual licence is an environmental disaster”, the Religious Right activist declared that “the Gulf oil spill is pond scum in comparison.”
Linda Harvey is furious about US fighting for climate change and leaving gay rights behind, and called for rethinking of ‘sustainability’ word.
She said: “If you still have your children in a public school, you might want to have a talk with them about the true meaning of ‘sustainability’. Or you may want to call your kids who are off at college. Will any of those university courses on their ‘green’ campuses assign students a project to evaluate the carbon footprint of a ‘gay pride’ parade? Or and abortion clinic?”

High school suspended gay student for wearing ‘provocative’ T-shirt
A gay student was suspended from high school after refusing to take off her “Nobody Knows I’m a Lesbian” T-shirt.
Brianna Popour said that she wore it to reach out to others who may be struggling to come out. But when she came to Chesnee High School, in South Carolina, she claims she was told to take off the shirt or to go home.
She refused to take off the shirt, and argued that there was nothing in the school’s dress code that she violated wearing it. But anyway, she was suspended.
Brianna stated to WSPA: “I’ve worn this shirt before and nobody’s ever said anything.”
According to WCBD 2 News: “[dress code states] clothing deemed distracting, revealing, overly suggestive or otherwise disruptive will not be permitted.”
Brianna’s mother, Barbara Popour, told WSPA: “[the school administrator] does not like people in his school wearing anything that says anything about lesbians, gays, or bisexuals.”
Director of the Children, Youth and Family Program, Ellen Kahn, at Human Rights Campaign Foundation, condemned the school’s act saying “it’s quite an extreme measure”.
She told Dailymail.com: “It’s not only hurtful to Brianna who was simply expressing who she is. But it creates a much more hostile and tense environment for other LGBT students, and other students who want to be more supportive.”

Real-life gay dads and their kid featured in adorable commercial for Campbell’s Star Wars Soup
If the gay dads in a new Campbell’s Soup commercial seem to have a natural chemistry with the child in the spot – and with each other – it’s because they are a real-life family.
Larry Sullivan and David Monahan and their son Cooper are the stars of a charming spot for the soup giant’s Star Wars offering. Each dad gives his best to channel James Earl Jones as the Darth Vadar’s voice they tell Cooper: ‘I am your Father.’
The spot is one of few with the tagline ‘Made for Real, Real Life.’
Yin Woon Rani, Campbell’s VP-marketing activation, tells Ad Age that the family was so appealing that their planned 15 second spot was extended to also include around 30 second version.
‘We use this phrase internally of this notion of “moment telling,” Woon Rani says. ‘We wanted to tell just very simple, telegraphic stories that didn’t always need the space of a :30. It was sort of a lucky extra because that story just ended up being so rich and so endearing.’

Public broadcaster ARD has pulled the plug on its Eurovision Nomination
As soon as Naidoo’s selection was made public it was met by a wave of criticism, with this news site among others reporting on Naidoo’s apparently homophobic and sadistic lyrics.
The broadcaster has now backtracked on the decision, saying that the public backlash led to a reevaluation of their initial nomination.
Announcing the decision, ARD’s entertainment coordinator, Thomas Schreiber said: “Xavier Naidoo is a brilliant singer who is, according to my own opinion, neither racist nor homophobe. It was clear that his nomination would polarise opinions, but we were surprised about the negative response. The Eurovision Song Contest is a fun event, in which music and the understanding between European people should be the focus. This characteristic must be kept at all costs. The ongoing discussion about Naidoo could harm the image of the Eurovision Song Contest. This is why Naidoo will not represent Germany. We will quickly decide now, how the German entry for the 2016 Eurovision Song Contest will be found”.
Schreiber said that a replacement will be found as quickly as possible.
Naidoo reacted resolutely to the news, saying “my passion for music and my work for peace, tolerance and harmony will not be put off course by this decision.”

Gay Man’s Accused Killer May Have Been His Boyfriend’s Best Friend
David James Brown was arrested Nov. 17 and charged with capital murder in the death of Marc Pourner Jr., 28, The Lafayette Journal & Courier reports. The manhunt for Brown had taken authorities to Buck Creek, Indiana, where he was found in hiding.
Pourner was found next to his burned out truck near Conroe, Texas on Nov. 15, according to reports. Investigators say that Pourner, who had been reported missing on Nov. 12 when he didn’t show up for his bookkeeping job at a local grocery store, had been bound, gagged and bludgeoned to death.
In a disturbing twist, Brown is reportedly best friends with Pourner’s boyfriend. Pourner’s father, Marc, believes Brown’s motive for killing his son could have been homophobia.
“We didn’t need to suspect,” Marc Pourner Sr. told local ABC news affiliate KTRK. “We had information that told us exactly what happened when the incident occurred.”
Investigators stressed that they were still interviewing Brown in an attempt to determine a potential motive, and that it was still too early to determine if the alleged murder had been a hate crime, according to The Houston Chronicle.

Paris Terrorist On The Run Spotted Visiting Gay Village in Belgium
Salah Abdeslam, 26, who is being hunted by special forces over the co-ordinated atrocities, was a regular visitor to the city’s vibrant gay village.
It’s reported that a fugitive terrorist, who’s still on the run after the Paris massacre, was trawling several gay bars in Brussels mere days before the coordinated attacks.
Security services are scouring hours of CCTV footage taken from bars in central Brussels, in an area known as “Jacques Quarter”.
According to the Mirror, counter-terror agents have been questioning bar owners in the area after Abdeslam was spotted a number of times near the end of October in the gayborhood.
An anonymous source said: “In these crowded bars people feel open and relaxed. Stealing wallets would not be a difficult thing to do. A lot of ID cards and driving licenses were stolen over the period he was there, but it may have been he wanted to launch a terror attack.”
Abdeslam is believed to have rented the car used to drive the Paris attackers to the city. Of all the attackers in the incident, which killed 137 people and wounded hundreds more, Abdeslam is presumed to be the only person still living.
