Linda Harvey: Fight for gay rights, not climate change

Linda Harvey, Mission: America, is incandescent that President Obama “continues to exalt the climate-change agenda above actual global crises,” meaning the “crises” of gay rights and reproductive freedom.

“Disease, emotional trauma, mutilation, family division, domestic violence and self-harm follow in the wake of LGBTQ identities and reproductive rights”. Harvey published her column in WorldNetDaily. She said: “There’s no way to disguise or adequately manage the wreckage left in the wake of these unnatural, life-rejecting behaviors.”

She is warning that “our culture’s current embrace of sexual licence is an environmental disaster”, the Religious Right activist declared that “the Gulf oil spill is pond scum in comparison.”

Linda Harvey is furious about US fighting for climate change and leaving gay rights behind, and called for rethinking of ‘sustainability’ word.

She said: “If you still have your children in a public school, you might want to have a talk with them about the true meaning of ‘sustainability’. Or you may want to call your kids who are off at college. Will any of those university courses on their ‘green’ campuses assign students a project to evaluate the carbon footprint of a ‘gay pride’ parade? Or and abortion clinic?”

Munich have good times to offer for gay travelers

Munich, Germany – is often overlooked by gay travelers because of Berlin’s infamous decadence. They love leather pants and closeted 19th-century Bavarian monarch Ludwig II. Munich has a throwback charm unique from artistic Berlin.

Dietmar Holzapfel, and his husband Josef Sattler, says hospitality in Munich has long extended to members of the LGBT community.

“Our former mayor Christian Ude was the patron of Pride 22 years ago, when other politicians didn’t dare do this. Munich was also the first city in Europe to host the IGLTA (International Gay and Lesbian Travel Alliance) convention.” He explained.

With an LGBT festivals almost every month, Munich is a party that never stops. Even Oktoberfest turns one massive tent over to gay brew enthusiasts.

You can find gay quarter, Glockenbachviertel, located not far from old city Altstadt, with lots of shops, bars and restaurants.

Holzapfel and Sattler’s joint are boasting sophisticated, modern rooms at reasonable prices and a fashionable bar/restaurant. Hotel Deutsche Eiche is overcrowded with LGBT travelers.

Sunbathing at the Isar River in warm weather is like a tradition in Munich, and also a good time for travelers. The Flaucher area is especially popular within gay community.

Matt Bomer calls campaign against Houston’s HERO ordinance ‘horrifying’

Former Texan Matt Bomer thinks there’s something as horrifying as his series American Horror Story: Hotel: the campaign against the Houston Equal Rights Ordinance (HERO).

‘The messages being broadcast across Houston attacking lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender (LGBT) people in an attempt to repeal the Houston Equal Rights Ordinance (HERO) go beyond misleading – they’re horrifying,’

‘These malicious ads, funded with a lot of money from anti-equality opponents, slander innocent people with slogans like “no men in women’s bathrooms” and imply transgender Houstonians want non-discrimination protections as a means to abuse children.

‘You and I know this is NOT true,’ Bomer adds. ‘But our opponents are running these deplorable messages in order to deceive voters heading into the November 3rd election. I grew up in the Houston suburbs, and it’s terrible to see what’s happening in my former backyard to try to repeal necessary non-discrimination protections.’

‘I know, Halloween is right around the corner…and an election in Houston is probably the last thing on your mind,’ Bomer writes. ‘But if we don’t fight for these non-discrimination protections — to prevent discrimination based on sexual orientation, gender identity, race, military status, religion, and 10 other traits — the fourth largest city in the country is going to be a much scarier place.’

Boy George: ‘I slept with Prince’

Boy George has said he has slept with Prince.

During the show’s live audition stage the Voice coach made the claim in front of a studio audience, bringing production to a halt.

‘[It] sent the audience absolutely wild and forced producers to stop filming,’ an insider told The Sun.

Boy George talked with the other UK Voice coaches Will.i.am, Kaiser Chiefs’ Ricky Wilson and singer Paloma Faith on the subject of who they’d all duetted with in the past.

The gay singer-songwriter said: ‘I have duetted with some of the greatest soul singers in history including Luther Vandross and Smokey Robinson.’

Paloma responded: ‘Well OK, if we’re throwing big soul names out there I’ve performed with Prince.’

To which Boy George replied: ‘Forget that, darling, I’ve slept with Prince.’

The crowd went wild, the source said: ‘Production staff had to come up on stage and speak to them.

‘After that, Boy George started backtracking saying that he hadn’t really slept with Prince and that, he just had his poster on his wall in reality.

‘But as far as the crowd were concerned the cat was already out of the bag.’

The Voice UK returns in January on BBC 1.

This is what happened when a gay guy was contacted by his school bully on Scruff years later

John Paul Brammer freelance writer, based in Washington DC, went home to rural Oklahoma to visit his hometown.

And when he was chatting to guys on Scruff, he got a message from a familiar face.

‘“Hi,” the message read. Curious, John Paul responded. “What’s up?” A few minutes passed. “I think you know me lol.”’

Blank profile said ‘went to school together’.

‘“We did?” John Paul replied, on edge. “Who are you?”

‘“You probably don’t like me… haha. I was a little mean to you.”’

‘I think it was the casual way he joined in on the harassment that made me hate him. The way after someone called me “faggot” he would parrot them, ally himself with them, use me to form solidarity with others,’ he said.

The profile asked: ‘Are you mad?’

‘Yes,’ John Paul responded, then asking him if he remembered anything he’d done.

‘No lol,’ he said. ‘But I was a real asshole back then.’

‘I thought about it, and when I calmed down, I reached a conclusion I didn’t expect,’

‘This person wasn’t the one-dimensional villain I’d made him out to be. All this time, he’d been closeted. Just like me. Yes, he had hurt me. Yes, he was wrong to hurt me. But I realized he was a victim too. In the town he and I had grown up in, being gay was seen as one of the worst things you could be. You might as well not even be human.

‘When he saw me getting pushed or getting my books smacked out of my hands or getting slurs thrown my way, he must have been relieved it wasn’t him.

‘And I can’t forgive that. But I can understand it.’

‘”Want to fool around?”, John Paul said.

‘No,’ John Paul responded. ‘Have a good life, man.’

You have to watch Will Young’s moving new music video about a naked trans man

For choice for the video, Will said: ‘I know that transgender people do not like being called brave. It is something that is innate. Not a choice, but a given. Being a gay man I feel the same. I wasn’t “brave” to come out it was simply what I had to do.

‘I am used to prejudice though. Through tough times embracing myself as someone “different” allowed me to embrace all differences in others, to embrace their vulnerability and their struggles as well as their inner strength and determination to be their true authentic selves. When I wrote the song, this is what I was referring to – the determination in modern life to be my authentic self.

‘In this video we see a man determined to be himself in the face of all adversity from inside and outside. It isn’t brave but, my god, it shows true grit and strength. What a wonderful thing. This video isn’t about selling records or my personal benefit. This video is about taking a moment in time to explore a section of society who stand up for themselves. To tell a story and offer a window through music into someone’s life.’

This gay man was told he would get booted from Disneyland for wearing short shorts

A gay man was told he would get booted from Disneyland in Anaheim unless he changed his short shorts.

Anthony Gilét, who lives in London, traveled to California for the annual ‘Gay Days’ event.

The event is when thousands of LGBTI patrons visit the park with their families and identify themselves by either wearing red or a football jersey.

‘I was certainly wearing more than Ariel,’ he said on his website.

‘Within a few minutes of being inside the park, a member of staff chased us down, before asking “do you have anything on under that top?”

‘So I told her yes, and showed her the shorts I had on underneath. To which she replied, “OK… Because it gives the impression that you have nothing on underneath. Do you have a change of outfit, because if not, security may remove you from the park.”

She said that: ‘It’s just that it’s a family park’.

Gilét, who paid $99 (€88) to go in, put on a longer shorts on his bag as he didn’t ‘want any drama’.

‘What exactly was the issue? Was it the fact that there was so much leg on show?’ he asked afterwards.

‘Because there were countless girls walking around in booty shorts. How is it any different from a girl in those? Or even a dress? Was she asking women if they had anything on under their short skirts too?’

Fired Priest: No ‘Gay Lobby’ in Vatican

“I met homosexual priests, often isolated like me … but no gay lobby,” Monsignor Krzysztof Charamsa (pictured above) told an Italian TV station in an interview broadcast Sunday, reports Agence France-Presse. Charamsa was fired from the Vatican press office just weeks ago after speaking to an Italian newspaper about his identity and his relationship.

Earlier in 2013, Pope Francis told a group of Latin American church leaders that there is indeed a “gay lobby” in the Vatican. A report commissioned by the previous pope, Benedict XVI, alleged there was a Vatican-connected gay network that met in and around Rome.

“There exists a convent where priests who manifest inappropriate sexual tendencies are sent to reflect,” 44-year-old Mario Bonfanti told the newspaper. “It’s a place where they help you to rediscover the straight and narrow. They wanted to ‘cure’ me but I refused to go.”

Catholic officials acknowledged the existence of the convent outside Milan, but would not address the specific nature of the issues addressed at the Venturini Convent.

“Priests come to us for a period of formation and personal reflection. At the moment we have neither gay priests nor pedophile priests here,” Father Gianluigi Pasto, 71, the head of the convent, told U.K. newspaper The Telegraph. “Certainly our job is to welcome everybody.”
